Everyone has one. The ring from a grandmother, the bracelet from an ex, the necklace that’s been riding around in a drawer since two apartments ago. And everyone has asked the same question about it: “Is this actually worth anything?”

Until now the answers were all bad. You could haul it to a jeweler and hope they’d look at it for free. You could spend an evening squinting at sold listings, trying to decide if your piece is more like the $30 one or the $300 one. Or you could do what most people do: nothing, forever.

So we built a better answer. What’s It Worth is a free tool that takes a photo of your jewelry and hands back a resale estimate in about ten seconds. No account, no email address, no “a specialist will contact you shortly.” Just a number.

How it works

Snap a photo (a couple of angles help, especially if there are stamps or markings) and upload it. The tool reads the piece the same way we price listings on StillSparkly: it identifies the materials and style, then grounds the number in what similar pieces actually sell for on the secondhand market. You get a range, something like $40–$65, plus the details it spotted along the way.

One honest note: this is a resale estimate, not a formal appraisal. If you need a number for insurance, you still want a certified appraiser (insurance values run much higher than resale, which is a whole other blog post). This tool answers the question you actually have, which is “what would this really sell for?”
